NEW LABEL for the next record, Matt has found a new home with French label 'Ici D'Ailleurs'. you might know them from the compilation of the same name from a while back that included Matt's remix of a track by Yann Tiersen. says Matt: "...i'm really happy to be involved with a diverse & forward thinking label whose first priority seems to be the music above anything else & that can only be a good thing." we can only agree. the label's site can be found at http://icidailleurs.com and if i'm not mistaken, the name translates as "here are the others", though don't quote me on that. NEW ALBUM Matt's currently planning the follow-up to the well received Mess We Made (check some of the reviews futher down). he'll be heading back into the studio in december, so it might be out early(ish) next year. he hopes on touring Europe more extensively in support of the album. no word on other areas of the world yet, but you never know. AUTUMN TOUR after the success of the dates of this summer, Matt's out to tour again in France and Spain in the fall. so far, the dates are as follows: 24 Oct: Festival Les 20 Ans de Radio Campus, Dijon, France 31 Oct: Festival Les Rockomotives, Vendome, France (http://www.rockomotives.com/) 1 Nov: La Trocardiere, Nantes, France 7 Nov: Tanned Tin Festival, Santander, Spain (http://www.tannedtin.com) 8 Nov: CCM John Lennon, Limoges, France 14 Nov: Sala Ricoamor, Castellon (TO BE CONFIRMED) 15 Nov: Sidecar, Barcelona, Spain 20 Nov: Sala El Sol, Madrid, Spain additional dates may follow. check http://www.thirdeyefoundation.com for updates. all spanish gigs are with Emak Bakia. SOME REVIEWS OF THE MESS WE MADE the album got some pretty good reviews. check what the professionals had to say: http://www.bbc.co.uk/lincolnshire/music/cd_review_matt_elliot.shtml (BBC) http://playlouder.com/review/+757mattelliott/ (PlayLouder) http://www.boomkat.com/artist.cfm?artist=MATT%20ELLIOT (Boomkat) http://www.themilkfactory.co.uk/reviews/melliott_themesswemade.htm (The Milk Factory) MOVIETONE RE-ISSUE after having been unavailable for quite a while, Domino-affiliate Geographic Records has just re-issued the first Movietone album. originally out on Bristol's Planet Records, it has now been remasterd and includes the first two singles and a demo track. for those of you that don't know it, it is a beautiful, dreamy album, featuring Matt on guitar. it can be ordered from your local quality recordstore, or the usual internet shops. OTHER BITS & PIECES The Big Chill have a nice interview with Matt: http://www.bigchill.net/story.html?id=555 the FabChannel online archive still doesn't include the gig Matt did at the Paradiso... i'll bug them some more to see what's keeping them. and finally, don't be confused: http://www.matelliott.co.uk/ until next time. take care, maarten www.thirdeyefoundation.com this email was sent to you because you are subscribed to the newsletter of http://www.thirdeyefoundation.com if you no longer wish to receive this newsletter, please send an email with 'unsubscribe 3EF ' to news@thirdeyefoundation.com or go to http://www.thirdeyefoundation.com, choose 'newsletter' and unsubscribe
